Where I work: Mid Devon District

About Me: My life completely changed about 2 years ago when my much loved granddad passed away. I didn't realise the importance of life and how short our time is in this world until he was gone. I was in a job I didn't like and was not very healthy or fit so I decided that I would get myself sorted and I joined a few fitness classes including pole dancing for fitness, after a few weeks of participating I decided it would be fun to teach, and so I looked into how I would do this. A year later I have built up popular classes and I am a self employed exercise to music teacher, taking aerobics classes and teaching pole dancing for fitness.

How I achieve my 5x30: I currently teach aerobics and pole dancing for fitness which I get very involved in throughout the week; I also participate in street jazz & Ceroc dance classes. In the warmer months I like to run and cycle.

Job Title: 5x30 Community Activator (East Devon)

About Me: I studied at Bicton College where I obtained an HND in Countryside and Recreation Management.
Prior to attending college, I instructed in outdoor sports for school groups in North Devon. I then went on to work as a senior instructor in outdoor sports in the Isle of Wight and South Devon. Following this I was employed in management in outdoor education in South Devon and continued on in management in the holiday industry in North Devon.
I am a part time tutor at Petroc College, which I will continue together with the role of Community Activator. 

How I achieve my 5x30: I run both short and long distances on a regular basis, however my main sport is surfing. I surf my local break at Croyde at every opportunity. My young puppy gets me out and about for daily walks and my weekends are usually taken up with taming the garden.
