The World Health Organisation recommends that you accumulate at least 30 minutes of (moderate intensity) physical activity 5 times a week.....5X30.
What is moderate intensity?
Moderate intensity physical activity means your heart rate and breathing increases, you should feel warm, possibly breaking out in a sweat depending on the temperature and your level of fitness. You should be able to carry on for a few minutes without becoming too tired and still be able to have a chat with someone.
What types of activity would you call moderate intensity?
Moderate intensity activities include gardening, brisk walking, cycling, swimming, housework and mowing the lawn.
Does the 5X30 Project cost me anything?
No, the 5X30 Project is part funded by the Big Lottery and Sport England and a number of other organisations, so you can get help for free.
